Founding of Coopbox
The history of Coopbox began in 1972.
Initially, Coopbox produced XPS containers for supermarkets, but soon extended its production to EPS.
Inauguration of the Ferrandina plant
A new plant was inaugurated in 1983 in Southern Italy, more precisely in Ferrandina, in the province of Matera, to intercept the development of large-scale distribution in the area; today, that plant has been converted to produce technical film.
Entering the European market
In the mid ‘80s, Coopbox started entering the European market in order to meet the growing demand for food packaging in the countries of the European Union.
Inauguration of the Nove Mesto factory
In 2002, a production site was opened in Slovakia, in Nove Mesto, with the specific goal of expanding in Europe.
Entry into the Happy Group
In 2021, Coopbox became part of the Happy Group, an all-Italian family-owned company with values that are deeply rooted and a national and international reference point in the food packaging sector.
The reconversion of Ferrandina and the birth of Proxima.
Following the conversion of the Coopbox Ferrandina plant, Proxima, a company specialising in the production of rigid and flexible film for various applications, was founded in 2023.
